7 NH Companies Get Job Training Grants - Including Concord Awning
Governor Maggie Hassan announced that Concord Awning and Canvas has been selected as one of seven New Hampshire companies to be awarded a grant from the state’s job training fund. Concord Awning was selected in a competitive process that identifies growth businesses with high-quality jobs and awards them with matching grants from the state.
According to owners Peter and Denise Sandberg, Concord Awning will use the grant for staff training in lean manufacturing and business growth management, working with the New Hampshire Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NHMEP). This will enable Concord Awning to streamline their fabrication process, reducing lead times while remaining price competitive.
Governor Hassan stated that the state’s job training grants are critical to “support the business community’s efforts to create good jobs and keep New Hampshire’s economy moving in the right direction.”
In business since 1919, New Hampshire-based Concord Awning and Canvas is a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial custom awnings, shade sails, indoor shades, industrial curtains and equipment covers.
